Product & Service Solutions

Passenger Elevators

We offer passenger elevator systems to fit any possible application. System selection, along with unit size and shape, are based on your individual requirements.

Elevators are typically and most economically manufactured in pre-engineered/standard sizes, but we have the capability to provide custom designs to fit code and customer requirements. Our Team works closely with you to ensure the final product fulfills expectations. We take tremendous pride in helping you plan and carry out successful projects by providing premium customer service and an unmatched personal touch.

From low-rise economy models to high-speed elevators serving the tallest observation deck in New England, we can provide an elevator package for any application.

Hydraulic Elevators

Commonly found throughout the country, hydraulic elevators operate with a pump moving liquid (oil based or vegetable based) under pressure into a cylinder. The cylinder contains a plunger that moves the elevator as liquid is pumped into or released from the cylinder through a valve.

Engineering Characteristics

  • Low to medium rise buildings (typically less than 60’ of travel)
  • Low to medium speed (200 ft./min. or less)
  • Optimal for industrial environments

Hydraulic Elevator Types

  • Holed: Hydraulic cylinders placed in a drilled hole
  • Hole-less: The cylinder stands within the hoist way and does not require a drilled hole. This class is typically limited to under 40’ of travel. A holeless elevator is a perfect solution for existing buildings or areas where drilling a jack hole would be too difficult or expensive

Conventional In-Ground

Hydraulic elevators are now designed to decrease environmental impact. Our Team can assist you in utilizing the following environmentally friendly options:

  • Replacing traditional hydraulic oil with a vegetable oil.
  • Designs for in-ground cylinders that limit the possibility of corrosion.
  • Using hole-less applications to avoid drilling into the ground.

Traction Elevators

Gearless

Geared

Unlike hydraulic elevators, traction elevators are not limited by building height. Traction elevators use a rope and traction sheave system with weights to counter-balance the elevator. Traction elevators utilize either direct current (DC) motors or alternating current (AC) motors. Some modern high-speed elevators move at up to 2,000 feet per minute.

Engineering Characteristics:

  • Medium to high rise buildings (more than 50’ of travel)
  • Medium to high speed (up to 2000 ft./min.)
  • Ideal for buildings where reliability and moving people quickly is essential

Traction Elevator Types:

  • Gearless Machine
  • Conventional Design with a machine room
  • Machine Room Less(MRL) Design, where the hoisting machine is located within the hoistway
  • Geared Machine
  • Conventional Design with a machine room

Machine Room Less Planning Guides

Machine Room Less Drawings, Specs, and BIM

As owners increasingly demand energy savings and seek U.S. Green Building Council LEED® certifications, architects, consultants and general contractors have discovered the benefits MRL’s provide to building design. The machine-room-less elevator is the result of technological advancements that often allow a significant reduction in the size of the electric motors used with traction equipment. The need for locating the machine room over the hoistway is eliminated because newly designed, smaller permanent magnet motors (PMM) allow Architects to design the hoistway with the machine as an integral component.

Not only does the MRL design lead to reduced use of both oil and energy for starting and running the elevator—plus the avoidance of potential ground contamination—it also permits more efficient and safe installation techniques and use of valuable interior space.

We are committed to providing elevator products and services that decrease environmental impact and promote sustainability – we stay true to our commitment by offering the MRL elevator option.

Always on the cutting edge of design and technology, we have installed MRLs throughout New England. Our experience with the MRL allows us to provide you with premium design consultation. Contact our Team today to discover how we can help you integrate an MRL into your next building project.

MRL Benefits

Engineering characteristics:

  • Medium to high rise (50’-300’ travel)
  • Medium to high speed (200-500 fpm)
  • Optimal for nearly any application: offers superior ride quality and reliable operation
  • Offers significant space and cost saving advantages

Space Saving Benefits:

  • No penthouse required above the roof level.
  • Utilizes a smaller more efficient machine to power the car.
  • Depending on the application, an MRL can reduce overhead mechanical structural support.
  • Where code permits, need for external machine room is limited to a small controller room.

Cost Saving Benefits:

  • Equipment is designed for a long life cycle.
  • Operation costs may be less than traditional designs.
  • Easy installation and maintenance.

Cab Design

Our goal is to create the best possible user experience with our new elevator installations. A smooth ride and reliable performance ensure ideal operation, while the car interior design creates an aesthetically pleasing experience for each passenger and improves the overall look and feel of the building. Our standard cab includes a flush wall, plastic laminate design with a suspended ceiling, but nearly every aspect of the cab can be modified to suit your needs. We offer upgraded wall panels, ceilings, fronts, and more in many different finishes. Contact us today to help you design the ideal cab for your building.
