How big is a common elevator?

For most commercial elevators, common measurements are 7 feet wide by 6 feet deep (2.13 x 1.83 m) with a minimum opening width of 3 feet 6 inches wide (1.07 m) — but some requirements will vary based on a state’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For example, if an elevator’s doors open in the center, it will require a width of at least 80 inches (2.03 m). Contact Stanley Elevator to check that the measurements of your elevators are in compliance with your state’s ADA rules.
